What is Novice?

Novice is a girls only class and is recommended for girls interested in pursuing competitive gymnastics. There is significant focus on form and technique.  Girls may take one or two classes a week. If they are hoping to make a competitive team, we recommend two 90 minute classes weekly.

Girls must be between 6 and 8 years old AND have completed RG Level 1 or one full season of KinderGym with excellent results.

Novice classes are for girls with natural strength, coordination and flexibility who love gymnastics! This class will suit the gymnast who is self-motivated and who has a strong desire to do quality gymnastics. Our coaches will expect a higher quality of execution on fundamental skills and basics which is essential to perform more advanced gymnastics.

For Novice classes, children must wear a gymnastics leotard.

Why are there so many levels in the same class?

This approach provides the greatest flexibility for our families and our participants.

With multiple levels in the class, children can advance in the same class when they are ready without being held back or having to change classes midway through the season.  Multiple levels in a class also allows children who are struggling on one event to continue to progress on the other three events.

Our coaches are experienced working with multiple levels in a single class as gymnastics skills are developed through progressions with one skill leading to the next.

How long does it take to complete a level?

Most children will require about 10 months of weekly classes to achieve a level, with the higher levels requiring more time.

Do you offer private classes?

Yes, we have a limited number of spaces available for private or semi-private classes for children ages 6-12.  Privates for older children, adults and/or competitive athletes please contact our office for assistance.
