Summer Camp Staff
(Temporary Summer Employment)

Summer camp attendants work alongside our experienced Camp Counsellors and Coaches to support our Summer Day Camp program.

The attendant will work directly with the children in the program who range in age from 4-12 years. The attendant will be an active camp participant and model appropriate behavior. The attendant will supervise children in non-gymnastics activities including extended care services before and/or after camp, outdoor activities, games, arts and crafts, and snack/lunch breaks.

The attendant will support Club efforts to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for campers and will proactively ensure that washrooms and common areas are clean and encourage children follow all health & safety protocols.

The attendant will also assist with daily administrative tasks that may include health screening, attendance records, preparing activities, preparing recognition awards, and more.

This is a temporary position funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Applicants aged 15-30 are welcome to apply. Health & Safety Coordinator
(Temporary Part Time Employment)

As a child-centred organization, health and safety has always been a priority. With the onset of the pandemic, helping children to understand and follow safety protocols, many of which are new, is of utmost importance. When we consider health and safety, we include the physical, emotional and mental health of our team and our program participants.

The Health and Safety Co-ordinator will take a proactive approach to helping parents and children of all ages understand all our health and safety initiatives. This includes pandemic related protocols in addition to all other health and safety rules.

The Co-ordinator champions a healthy workplace and takes a positive, high-energy approach to ensuring the facility, our team, our spectators and all our program participants enjoy a healthy and safe environment.

Specific tasks including monitor and enforce social distancing during competitive training and/or recreational classes; monitor and enforce respiratory etiquette; provide cleaning support during/after training/classes; escort children to washroom; ensure hygiene rules are following during snack/break times; assist with visitor screening and capacity controls; update OHS bulletin board as requested; monitor and enforce outdoor safety; provide customer service and education as needed.

This position will work collaboratively with all members of our team, including our coaching staff.

Fundraising Organizer
(Temporary Summer Employment)

The Fundraising Organizer collaborates with other team members to create and implement the 2021-2022 fundraising plan. Creates an annual fundraising calendar with realistic and achievable fundraising goals supported by specific events and/or activities.

Specific tasks include researching fundraising opportunities; finalizing the 2020/2021 plan; drafting communications; preparing sponsor materials; contacting potential sponsors; and organizing related events.

Program Developer / Early Childhood Educator
(Temporary Summer Employment)

The Program Developer is ideally an Early Childhood Educator. He/she develops and leads the implementation of high quality developmentally appropriate programs for children to facilitate their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth aligned with Club mission and values. Leads the implementation of programs and activities that welcome and facilitate the inclusion and integration of children from diverse backgrounds and those with special needs.

The successful candidate develops sessional curriculum and staffing requirements for a new program to launch in fall 2021. Ensures the defined program goals are met and that the Club can offer the community a high-quality, cost-effective option for pre-school aged children that includes traditional early childhood education and gymnastics programming.

Tasks include market research; formalize program goals and objectives; develop age-appropriate curriculum; collaborate with coaching staff for inclusion of gymnastics programming; costing; staffing plan development; creation of promotional materials; and identify opportunities to promote the new program.

WAG Competitive Coach

Scarborough Gym Elites is hiring for our competitive WAG program. SGE coaches ensure that each gymnast is encouraged to reach their full potential in accordance with the Club’s mission and Safe Sport protocols. The successful candidate must have the ability to coach and spot children of all ages in our ODP, JO and/or Xcel programs.

Applicants must have the following minimum qualifications:

· NCCP Level 2 / Competition 1

· Gymnastics Ontario Risk Management Program

· First Aid (or willing to obtain)

· Clear Vulnerable Sector Screen (or willing to obtain)

NOTE: While coaches may be assigned to any level or group, at this time we are seeking coaches interested in coaching in our Xcel Program.

Recreational Program Supervisor

In this hands-on position the Recreational Program Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the recreational program including camps, birthday parties, our special needs program, and our teen/adult program. He/she is accountable for the design and delivery of recreational programming in accordance with the SGE mission and philosophy statement, under the direction of the Executive Director.

The role will require exemplary leadership and exceptional administrative skills. The Recreational Program Supervisor will supervise, mentor, and support recreational program staff and ensure that each participant is encouraged to reach his/her full potential in a safe, healthy, and positive environment in accordance with the Club’s mission statement and Safe Sport protocols. While this is a non-coaching position, the Supervisor will be hand’s on in the gym and provide coverage for both planned and unexpected coach absences on occasion.

Applicants must have the following minimum qualifications:

· NCCP Level 2 / Competition 1 or be Foundations trained and willing to obtain Competition 1.

· Gymnastics Ontario Risk Management Program

· First Aid (or willing to obtain)

· Clear Vulnerable Sector Screen (or willing to obtain)
